Gage and I watched the movie, Ferdinand, last night. It was a great film and we thoroughly enjoyed it. I really appreciate it when meaningful values are incorporated into children’s movies. The overall themes (in my opinion) were being true to oneself and that, “love wins.” My favorite parts of the film were as follows:
1) Ferdinand is a lover instead of a fighter (even though he is an enormous bull).
2) Ferdinand doesn’t give in to fighting even though he is bullied and basically forced into a situation to fight.
3) Ferdinand’s example of stopping to smell the flowers.
4) when the goat says, I love, love!
In my own life, I am a firm believer in the power of love. It was great to see an entertaining animated movie with a focus on the importance of love and being true to oneself. I highly recommend Ferdinand.
